Coulsdon Community Partnership: Highlights of 2024

Celebrating community, mindfulness, and togetherness throughout the year.

Free Yoga and Mindfulness Classes

2024 started with a strong focus on well-being. Free yoga sessions at Tollers became a community favourite, hosted on Mondays and Tuesdays from 6:30–7:30 PM by Simone from I Am Soulfull. Although a small fee of £5 was introduced later in the year due to grant funding ending, the classes remained popular.

Art mindfulness courses continued to thrive, with fully booked sessions encouraging creative expression and mental clarity. New spaces were added to meet demand, and bookings were made available at coulsdonpartnership.org.

Seasonal Celebrations

This Easter, Coulsdon Community Partnership proudly hosted the Easter Bunny as a key stop on the Easter Trail arranged by Cozy Glow. The event featured vibrant food trucks and market stalls, showcasing the best of Coulsdon’s local businesses. The community came out in record-breaking numbers, creating a lively and festive atmosphere that delighted families and visitors alike. It was a resounding success, with local businesses reporting excellent sales and the event cementing itself as a highlight of the year.

In October, Coulsdon was transformed for the Trick or Treat event by Cozy Glow of which CCP hosed a stop on the trail in the Hive garden. The streets buzzed with excitement as families enjoyed Halloween-themed decorations, a lively market, and plenty of treats for the little ones.

December brought the much-anticipated Coulsdon Yuletide Magic, though it wasn’t without its challenges. A sudden storm forced last-minute changes, with the dedicated team working tirelessly until 4 AM to secure an indoor location. Thanks to their quick thinking and determination, the event went ahead as planned, with festive stalls, music, and community cheer filling the new venue. Local businesses and sponsors rallied together to ensure the event remained a heartwarming success despite the weather.

Expanding Opportunities for Local Businesses

The Coulsdon Community Partnership continued its mission to support local entrepreneurs by hosting markets during key events. Stallholders and sponsors played a vital role in creating vibrant, community-centred gatherings.

Additionally, a Cozy Glow trials involve stops hosted by third parties, inviting guests to explore Coulsdon with a creative map of locations, decorations, and independent market stalls.

Community Garden and Beyond

The Hive community garden remained a hub for all ages, offering programmes that fostered collaboration and environmental stewardship. These activities strengthened the bonds between neighbours and reinforced the Partnership’s commitment to sustainability.
